Thursday afternoon, June 22nd, 2006
We finished our fire preparation work at Garland's Lodge and so Thursday about 12:30 I took this series of photos and ended up at Indian Gardens where I had heard fire was spilling over the rim at Dairy Queen and working its way south. Notice the back burn photos at Manzanita Campground and just south shows how it looks along the highway. As you can see I found the fire on the hillside above Indian Gardens.
Later Thursday afternoon/evening, June 22, 2006
As the afternoon turned into evening the fire just kept progressing south and dripping further down the hill as the SFD/Forest service teams prepared a 20' fire line cut to dirt with charged hoses to supply sprinklers and nozzles the next day.
